Farming for Conservation

PROJECTS

DONATE

kOALA CONSERVATION

We are helping  to preserve our local koala population on over 1000 acres of private land via:

  1. Population and Health Surveys (drone based thermal imagery, spotlighting and audio surveys);
  2. Protecting and increasing native habitat (planting of riparian areas with feed and habitat trees, carbon forestry programs and protection of old growth areas);
  3. Feral and invasive species control (invasive vegetation management and control of foxes, cats and wild dogs).

Regenerative Farming

The core values of farming and conservation are the same.  Clean water, healthy soil and a diversity of species.     By creating a healthy regenerative environment for our agricultural pursuits, we are also providing a complex and sustainable environment for the native species we host.

Our farming strategies includes:

Fencing of rewilding of creek lines to reduce erosion and improve water quality.

Slowing down water flow through vegetation and flow barriers.

Reducing paddock size to facilitate short rotation grazing.

Encouraging the re-establishment of native grasses.
